CAMP FOR KIDS ages 5 - 8
Session 1 – June 18-22    Session 3 - June 25-29     Session 5 – July 30 – August 3

MTYP offers Sessions 1, 3, and 5 for 5 - 8 year olds.  After selecting fun Broadway songs, our staff writes an age-appropriate script utilizing the songs.  All campers learn songs, dances, and dialogue, and perform for their families and friends on the last day of camp.

Camp for 5-8 year olds meets from 9:00am to noon, with the performance at 1:00pm on Friday.  On Friday, campers will either bring a sack lunch or money for pizza! 

Camp cost is $85, and includes a small snack each morning and a camp tee shirt.  Be sure to indicate shirt size on the enrollment form. 

A confirmation letter will be sent to campers after we receive the enrollment form, with more details!

CAMP FOR KIDS ages 9 - 12
Session 2 – June 18-22    Session 4 - June 25-29     Session 6 – July 30 – August 3

MTYP offers Sessions 2, 4 and 6 for 9 - 12 year olds. The campers will perform the musical that the staff will soon select, and they will make certain it is a musical popular with this age group, with lots of roles for everyone! 

Camp for 9-12 year olds will meet from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday through Thursday, but on Friday, we will begin at 3:00pm, with the performance at 7:00pm.  This will let us accommodate the schedule of the morning campers.  For the first four days, campers will eat lunch before they come to camp.  On the performance day, campers will bring a sack supper, or money for pizza. 

Camp cost is $90, and includes a small snack each afternoon, and a camp tee shirt.  Be sure to include shirt size on the enrollment form.

MTYP is located at 3305 E. Douglas, on the southeast corner of Douglas and Rutan – across from the Hillcrest Apartments, one block east of Hillside. The building sign on Douglas says ABAY Orthodontics – they’re our landlord! Camp Sessions 1-6 meet and perform at MTYP, and the other camps will rehearse at MTYP with performances as listed.

ADVANCED CAMP - 11 - 14 YEAR OLDS
July 9 - 15 (Monday through Sunday)

For the preteen and young teens ready for something more challenging, we offer Advanced Camp for the third year!  Advanced Camp will audition, cast, rehearse, and perform a musical from the “JUNIOR” catalog at Music Theatre International.  The first five days will meet from 10:00am - 3:00pm, at MTYP, and campers will bring a sack lunch. 

The location for the production is still being negotiated, but will be a professional performing space (we have used Mosley Street Melodrama Theater previously).  The schedule for the final two days will be determined by the theater we use.  Saturday will likely have a rehearsal time of 10am to 3:00pm, and Sunday likely will have an early afternoon rehearsal, lasting until the late afternoon performance.  These details will be sent in your confirmation letter.

Advanced Camp tuition is $120.  Tuition includes a camp tee shirt.  Be sure to indicate size on the enrollment form.

In order to attend Advanced Camp, campers must have prior musical theatre experience.  Acceptable experience includes one mainstage MTYP production, or two MTYP camps.  Alternatively, experience in other theatres will be considered.

CAMP FOR TEENAGERS
(13 year-olds through the Class of 2006) July 16 through July 28

We are pleased to offer Teen Camp for the 9th year!  Camp meets for two weeks at MTYP, Monday through Friday, and Monday through Thursday.  The performance schedule is different this year, so keep on reading!  The Teen Camp musical is KISS ME KATE! There are lots of roles, and a busy chorus. Mike Roark will direct, with Tim Raymond as music director, and Joshua Larson as choreographer! 

Each day of camp, from 9:00am to 4:00pm, the teens practice lines, rehearse scenes, prepare costumes, work on the set, and learn the songs and dances.  Cast members bring a sack lunch each day, but MTYP will provide pizza for supper during the final rehearsal.

On Friday of the second week, rehearsals begin at noon at Century II, and campers stay at Century II until 9:00pm.  This year, both performances are on Saturday - at 2:30pm and 7:30pm.  On Saturday, campers need to arrive at the theater at 1:30pm.  We expect the camp to fill quickly, so make your summer plans as soon as possible!

Teenager Camp tuition is $180, and tee shirts are included - the color to be voted on at the first day of camp!
